QPR have decided that it’s time for midfield playmaker Adel Taarabt to move on according to reports in The Daily Mail. Despite being the clubs captain and driving force last year QPR manager Neil Warnock has admitted that he’s struggling to find a place in the team for the Moroccan international. During the summer the west London club were desperate to hang on to their talisman but a lot can change in a short amount of time in football.
PSG expressed an interest in the midfielder in the summer but the Moroccan’s loss of form has perhaps seen the French club’s interest in Taarabt cool. Warnock had previously said that for £15m he would drive Taarabt to Paris himself – a statement that demonstrates the change in heart from Taarabt’s parent club.
With QPR owner Tony Fernandes keen to supplement Warnock’s squad in January the sail of their former captain could provide the necessary funds to do so. Reports in The Daily Mail suggest that QPR have now organised for a third party to find a potential buyer for Taarabt, one that is willing to pay the asking price. QPR have set the asking price for Taarabt so high because of a clause in his contract which gives 40% of his next sale to previous club Tottenham.
