da brwin: Arsenal Fan TV’s Robbie Lyle has suggested that a run of defeats could result in a backlash against manager Arsene Wenger.
da casino: The Frenchman’s future at the Emirates was a talking point throughout the entire season due to his contract expiring this summer.
Once again, the club failed to maintain a serious assault on the Premier League title and for the first time in 21 years they failed to earn a place in the top four.
Wenger has so far refused to publicly reveal whether or not he will be at Arsenal next season, but BBC Sport claims that he has now agreed a new two-year contract.
The news is likely to anger some fans given the large number of protests that were carried out throughout the campaign, calling for Wenger to end his 21-year spell in charge.
Last weekend’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea masked the disappointing season, but Lyle believes that the fans could turn on the manager if the team do not hit the ground running in the 2017-18 campaign.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live:
“The first time we get a back-to-back loss, say, for instance, It will be interesting to see how the fans react. I feel that we have got a really big summer ahead.”
