Defence has long been a problem for Celtic in European ties with foreign guests finding easy pickings that sucks the life of the atmosphere inside the stadium.
The problems in defence have been there for a while with no permanent signings made in the last two transfer windows. Filip Benkovic was signed on loan in August while Toljan was added in January but neither will be around in the summer when Celtic set out on another European campaign.
Kieran Tierney may return to the side for next week’s second leg while Kris Ajer could come into central defence but most fans are demanding that serious money is spent to give their side a fighting chance the next time a side of Valencia’s quality visit Celtic Park.
