da realbet: There are not many situations in which I lose my words – anyone who knows me will testify to this – yet this weekend I found myself speechless on more than one occasion and all in relation to the club that is fast becoming the bane of my life – Chelsea FC.
da spicy bet: It is a debate where exactly to start when talking about the week that AVB, Chelsea and Abramovich have had, with now more than ever journalists praying to be a fly on the wall at Cobham, and given that this is Chelsea – a club that seem to lurch themselves into one disaster after another – that is saying something.
The disasters now however have reached epic proportions, and we all know what that means – an impromptu training ground visit from the man upstairs Roman Abramovich – something that AVB will appreciate about as much as Joey Barton appreciates sanctions over his twitter comments.
The ill-advised visit ahead of the ‘showdown’ with United, which whilst not exactly a title decider as in previous years, but good enough to make up part of a Super Sunday regardless – mind you the other game did involve Aston Villa – will have deeply unsettled not only the Chelsea players, who by now must surely be losing faith in the manager, but also left the man himself AVB shaking in his boots.

Previous Chelsea managers have suffered the curse of the training ground visit and have either seen their season dismantled or been dismissed soon afterwards. Not only do the players and AVB know this, but so do the media and fans, and the rumour mills, which is never quiet at the best of times for Chelsea has gone into overdrive.
Add to this the dismal capitulation of Chelsea when three goals to the good against United – which despite a stellar performance from Howard Webb which I can only assume will lead to the FA giving Ryan Babel a full refund for his tweet about the man in the middle – Chelsea were their own worst enemy yet again and looked lacklustre all over the park.
Unsurprisingly Torres failed to score, and whilst Nando supporters will point to the fact he set up Mata with a pitch perfect cross, the fact remains he is a striker who does not score and Chelsea simply do not get goals from enough other players to compensate for this. Chelsea fans will be praying for the inform Drogba to return to both the club and starting line up as soon as the Ivory Coast conclude their ACON campaign and hope that in the meantime other players can weigh in with the goals.
To further unsettle AVB it is that time of year again that Mourinho declares his love for England and desire to leave his current club, and thus former club Chelsea are begin heavily touted as his destination – with Mancini doing a stand up job at City and Fergie clearly staying at Old Trafford until he is carried out in his coffin, a return to Chelsea is not impossible, especially should they become the only club Mourinho failed to win the Champions League with. Most Blues fans would bite your hand off for a Jose return – well as long as he brings Ronaldo with him!
