da imperador bet: Premier League clubs Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United have all registered an interest in Notts County youth goalkeeper Fabian Speiss.
The 18-year-old has been watched by scouts from the clubs after turning in an impressive string of performances for County’s youth side this season.
With question marks remaining over the quality of English goalkeepers produced and nobody truly rivalling Joe Hart for the number one spot, Speiss has been billed as one for the future and potentially as good as the current Manchester City stopper.
County’s Head of Youth Development Mick Leonard told the Mail Online
‘He’s as good as any young goalkeeper I have seen and I wouldn’t be surprised if any of the big clubs did want him. He’s got everything a modern goalkeeper needs’.
Arsenal scouts watched the goalkeeper during a loan at Lewes but if Manchester City win the race to sign Speiss it would echo the rationale pursued to prize Joe Hart away from fellow Football League side Shrewsbury in 2006. It remains whether County will receive a bid or promote young Speiss to the first team.
Leonard continued the high praise of the clubs young custodian.
‘I would love to see him play for our first team. I believe he’s good enough and, if he did, his value would rise even more’.
