da esoccer bet: According to a recent report from The Times, Premier League clubs could be forced to reduce the amount of players they send out on loan, which could seriously impact Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea. The Blues currently have no fewer than 39 players on temporary stints away from Stamford Bridge in a bid for the regular football they are unlikely to get in West London, although new rules will force the Blues to drastically reduce that number.
da pinup bet: And that should be of keen interest to Aston Villa manager Dean Smith, as the door could be open for his team to strike a vital agreement regarding striker Tammy Abraham, valued at £9 million by Transfermarkt, what with the Englishman on loan at Villa Park for the entirety of this season.
The Breakdown
Ultimately, the 21-year-old was one of many Chelsea youngsters facing the prospect of very little football under Sarri this term were he to remain at Stamford Bridge, what with the striker having appeared just three times previously for the Blues, and playing much of his football in his career so far out on loan.
And it was Villa, under the stewardship of former boss Steve Bruce, who pulled off quite the coup by luring Abraham to the Midlands giants during the summer – this all despite the 21-year-old playing in the Premier League with Swansea City last season.
And the two-times England international has lit up Villa Park in recent times with ten goals in just 15 Championship appearances for the Villans, four which coming in their remarkable 5-5 draw with Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night to take his tally to six in his last three appearances.
Thus, it’s plainly obvious that Abraham will play a vital role in whatever success Villa have this season, which is why they must seek to try and make his temporary deal a permanent one – and recent reports suggest that the opportunity could arise for them to do just that.
Clearly, Sarri wasn’t overly convinced by Abraham, as letting him leave for Villa left the Chelsea boss very short in the striking ranks, with Alvaro Morata, who hasn’t exactly set the world alight, and Olivier Giroud, who has also struggled at times, the only senior forwards in Sarri’s squad.
Thus, one must wonder whether the 21-year-old has an immediate, or indeed long-term, future at Stamford Bridge, and it’s a question Villa simply must ask as, whatever league they are in next season, they would benefit hugely from Abraham leading their line.
And with reports suggesting that Chelsea will need to reduce the number of players they send out on loan, the door could be open for Villa to strike a vital agreement with the England forward over a permanent deal.
